Bridging China’s Policy and Global Biodiversity Goals

We supported Friends of the Earth US in exploring how China’s Ecological Conservation Redlines can inform global biodiversity finance policies.

Ahead of COP16, Bambu Consulting supported Friends of the Earth US in launching a new publication that explores how China’s Ecological Conservation Redline (ECR) policy could serve as a model for global financial institutions—particularly Chinese banks—to adopt exclusionary financing strategies that protect biodiversity.

The report, Red Lines for a Green Future, calls for stronger safeguards against harmful development, aligning with the Banks and Biodiversity Initiative’s proposed No Go areas. It offers practical pathways for integrating exclusionary policies into financial decision-making to mitigate environmental risks and support global efforts to halt and reverse biodiversity loss.We supported Friends of the Earth US in exploring how China’s Ecological Conservation Redlines can inform global biodiversity finance policies.
